2.8. Check of level and replacement of cooling liquid

GENERAL INFORMATION

Stopper of discharge of cooling liquid on a radiator (V6 engine)

The stopper of discharge of cooling liquid is specified by an arrow.

The screw of removal of air on the top part of the thermostat (OHC engine)


The screw of removal of air is specified by an arrow.

If as cooling liquid mix of a concentrate "Super Plus 4" and water is used it is not required to make replacement of cooling liquid.

Check of level of cooling liquid needs to be made constantly, but at least 1 time a month.

To apply only cooling liquid, that is mix of the distilled water and antifreeze to a dolivka.
Prevention

In case of emergency it is possible to add also clear water, but at the same time in the shortest possible time it is necessary to modify density of cooling liquid or to replace it.


Level of cooling liquid has to be in a broad tank between tags of "MIN" and "MAX" on the cold engine.

To add cold cooling liquid only in the cold engine.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. To unscrew a cover of a broad tank.
Prevention

It is possible to unscrew a cover only at a temperature below 40 °C, otherwise it is possible to get serious burns.


2. To install the corresponding container under a radiator.
3. In interior of the car to install the heater temperature regulator in the provision of the maximum temperature.
4. To unscrew a stopper of discharge of cooling liquid in the lower part of a radiator and to merge liquid.
5. To install the corresponding container under the block of cylinders.
6. On the block of cylinders to unscrew a bolt of discharge of cooling liquid and to merge liquid.
7. After completion of discharge to wash out the cooling system, directing a pure stream through a broad tank and to continue washing until clear water does not appear from an exit of the lower tank of a radiator.
8. After washing of system to screw up into place drain traffic jams.
9. To make filling of the cooling system through a mouth of a broad tank until allocation of air bubbles stops.
10. To start the engine and to warm up it up to the working temperature. In the course of warming up of the engine to control the level of cooling liquid and if necessary to add.
11. To establish a cover of a broad tank.
12. After cooling of the engine to check the level of cooling liquid.
