8.2. Driveshaft

8.2.1. Removal and installation

GENERAL INFORMATION

Rubber coupling of the GAF 30 driveshaft

1 – metal coupling,

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. To install the car over the viewing channel or on the elevator.
2. To designate mutual position of the crosswise hinge and a flange of a gear wheel of the main transfer and to disconnect the driveshaft from the back bridge (bolts of fastening of a back flange are specified by shooters). To unscrew the case of the intermediate bearing, having designated the provision of laying between the case of the bearing and a body of the car (these designations will be useful at installation of the driveshaft and its intermediate bearing).
3. To disconnect the driveshaft from the transmission, paying attention not to damage a sealing ring in a back part of a case. After extraction of a shaft the opening in a back part of a case of the transmission should be muffled a stopper or a forward tip of the faulty driveshaft not to allow an oil effluence from the transmission.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. From an opening of a back part of a case of the transmission to take a stopper. To check installation of a sealing ring of a back part of a case of the transmission and to insert into it the forward end of the driveshaft, paying attention not to damage an edge of a sealing ring.
2. To install the intermediate bearing of the driveshaft, having arranged under it the corresponding laying according to the designations put during dismantling (without tightening fastening bolts).
3. To connect the driveshaft to a flange of the leading gear wheel of the main transfer according to the designations of a relative positioning put earlier. To establish the new laying protecting bolts from unscrewing.
4. Rotating the driveshaft to install the intermediate bearing and to tighten fastening bolts the corresponding moment.
5. To check and in case of need to add amount of oil in the transmission.

MT 75 TRANSMISSION

Difference of the driveshaft used with the MT 75 transmission consists in fastening of the driveshaft to the transmission.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
To unscrew three nuts of fastening of the rubber coupling of the driveshaft to an output shaft of the transmission and to remove the driveshaft. Two types of the rubber GAF 30 or GAF 41 coupling are applied.

GAF 30 COUPLING

Hairpins of fastening of the coupling should not be turned at the appendix of the moment of 80 Nanometers. In case the hairpin to be turned at the appendix of the smaller moment, it needs to be unscrewed and established as follows.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. To clear a carving in a transmission flange.
2. To apply on a carving of openings two drops of means against unscrewing (from two parties of an opening), to immediately screw up a hairpin and within 30 minutes to give to means the chance to harden.
3. To check a condition of the rubber coupling for existence of mechanical damages and cracks. In the presence of cracks the driveshaft is subject to replacement as the driveshaft is balanced with the coupling as a single whole. When replacing the driveshaft to establish a shaft with the GAF 41 coupling.
4. To fix the coupling to the transmission, using new nuts.

GAF 41 COUPLING

Unscrewing, check and installation are made in the same way, as for the GAF 30 coupling except that hairpins should not be turned at the appendix of the moment of 110 Nanometers.
